45 years of Rally Experience
Terry left grammar school to become Ford Motor Co’s Apprentice of the year 1973, then following his training, boasts a decade of experience on the factory floor as a certified toolmaker. His passion for rallying took root at the factory when he joined the Ford Halewood Motor Club. Terry not only built his own rally cars but also piloted them to victory across club, national, and international competitions. His ascent in the rally world earned him factory backing.
In 1981, he clinched the Group 1 title in the Castrol Autosport National Rally Championship, further solidifying his reputation by securing Group 1 on the Lombard RAC Rally in his Mk2 RS2000, representing Ford. A defining moment in his World Rally Championship career came on that same event, with his overall stage win in a classic Welsh forest stage, outpacing all factory teams and drivers. With over two decades of experience as a Rally Instructor, Terry continues to compete, most recently becoming BTRDA Forest Rally Championship 2022,
Class 12 Champion.
